He made an invalid claim to the US government June 5, 1885.
Died June 7, 1925 in Upshur County, West Virginia.
Widow applied for a pension in July 7, 1925.

Born February 14, 1824 in Pendleton County, Virginia.
Valentine was reared by John & Esther Siron. He served in Company I, 3rd West Virginia Cavalry (Union). Enlisted January 25, 1863, in Weston for 3 years - Age: 44, Height 5ft, 8in; blue eyes, dark hair, dark complexion; born in Highland County, occupation: farmer. Please see "Loyal West Virginia 1861-1865" by Theodore F. Lang p 194 for details of the service of this unit.
His widow applied for a pension from the US Government in 1885.
Resident of Lewis county in the 1850 census. That part of Lewis county became a part of Upshur county in 1851.
Spelled Cyron in the 1860 Upshur county census.
Died December 28, 1878 in Upshur County, West Virginia.
